Throughout the next few months, please remember that Township ordinances call for proper snow removal and special parking guidelines, including but not limited to the following key points.
- Please park in your driveways - not on streets or cul-de-sacs - from two hours after the start of a continuous snowfall until the snow has been completely plowed.
- While cars should not be parked in cul-de-sacs during significant snowfall, it is especially difficult for the plows to clear the snow when cars are parked perpendicular to the curb in a cul-de-sac. For best results, please keep all neighborhood streets clear of cars.
- Owners or tenants and businesses are responsible for clearing the snow from the sidewalk adjacent to each property, as well as any snow around a fire hydrant that is on each property, within 24 hours of the snow event. Snow and ice may not be placed into public streets, gutters or sewer inlets.
- Do not pile snow around fire hydrants or to a height that limits sight distance for vehicles.
- Remove obstacles such as basketball nets from the roadway. Make sure trash and recycling bins are between the curb and sidewalk, not in the street.
