The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a full closure of Boot Road between Quarry Road and Southwind Lane starting Monday, September 8, 2025, to allow for the demolition and replacement of the Boot Road Bridge over Amtrak. The closure is expected to last approximately one year.
Detours:
Passenger Vehicles: Use U.S. 322 (Brandywine Avenue), Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue), and Quarry Road.
Trucks: Follow the posted truck detour.
Motorists are urged to plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and stay alert for construction crews and changes in traffic patterns.
