At the next Board of Supervisors meeting on TUESDAY, March 12, 2024 at 6:30 pm, representatives from the Township's trash & recycling hauler (AJ Blosenski/Waste Connections) will be present to discuss service lapses. The presentation is slated just after public comment. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and hear the explanation for missed collections and proposed solutions directly from the hauler. The meeting will be held both in person and virtually (see the Agenda for the Zoom link). If you are unable to attend the meeting, you may send your questions to solidwaste@westwhiteland.org and staff will share them at the meeting. A recording of the meeting will be posted on the Township's website by the end of the day on Wednesday, March 13.
West Whiteland Township has partnered with Blosenski for decades, but since national company Waste Connections acquired AJ Bloskenski in September of 2022, service complaints have increased exponentially. The Township fields reports of delayed pick-ups via phone and email and attempts to coordinate with the hauler to have each resident's trash and recycling collected weekly. Residents that call Blosenski directly have been placed on hold for up to an hour, often with no resolution.
The Township is actively engaging Waste Connections/Blosenski in discussions to understand a plan for improved service and are examining the contract to attempt to receive credit for the missed collections.
