Security Camera Registration

Register Your Security Camera!

Surveillance systems are everywhere. They can be found in our homes, in our doorbells, on our school buses and in businesses. When a crime occurs, surveillance systems in the immediate area may capture valuable information that could help solve these crimes. Often times, neither the camera owners nor the police are aware of the potentially vital footage that exists.

To find resources available to keep our community safe by deterring and solving crime, the West Whiteland Township Police Department has developed the Security Camera Program.  The Security Camera Program will help the Police Department to quickly identify nearby cameras that may have captured criminal activity. After registering your camera, you would only be contacted by the Police Department if there is a criminal incident in the vicinity of your security camera. If necessary, Police personnel may request to view your camera footage in order to assist in the investigation. Help make West Whiteland Township an undesirable place for criminals to commit crime and keep your entire community safe! Registering your business or personal surveillance camera will assist the Police Department in its overall crime prevention strategy.

As the Police Department responds to criminal incidents in our community, we may be able to use the information or footage gathered from the security cameras to assist in the apprehension and prosecution of the criminals involved.
