Solid Waste Program Program Costs
Dear Residents:
At its public meeting on September 26, 2012, the Board of Supervisors (BOS) voted unanimously to continue the current Pay as You Throw program for collection of waste and the current dual stream recycling program. The waste contract was awarded to Charles Blosenski, Inc., and the recycling contract was awarded to A.J. Blosenski. Both contractors are the Township’s current recycling and waste service providers. The contract period for both waste and recycling is January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2015, with an option to extend each contract for 2 one year periods.
The scheduled collection day (each Tuesday) for waste and recycling will not change. All current special collections (bulk, yard waste, branches, and Christmas trees) also remain in place. Scheduled dates for these special collections will be published in the fall 2012 Township Newsletter, and will be available at www.westwhiteland.org , under Refuse and Recycling.

At the public meeting on October 24, 2012, the BOS adopted a $2.50/bag fee, a reduction of $ 0.50/bag. In addition, the Township instituted an annual $49 recycling fee. These fee changes are effective January 1, 2013.
Refunds will not be available to program participants for the $0.50 per bag price differential. Please use your discretion, and purchase bags in smaller quantities for the remainder of 2012. The bag color and logo will not be changed as a result of adopting the new, lower price.
The $49 recycling fee will be billed by the Township to residents who participate in the program, on an annual basis, beginning in 2013.
