The Planning &
Zoning Department is responsible for administering and enforcing the Township
Zoning Ordinance, administering the process for dividing and developing
property, assisting the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission in
developing policy for the future development of the Township, and providing
staff support for the Historical Commission and the Zoning Hearing Board.
The Department works closely with the Code Administration Department to
assure that the various permits they issue are consistent with the Township
zoning and historic preservation regulations.
The Department also works closely with the Public Works Department in
matters related to the provision of stormwater management and traffic planning.
The Department is assisted in its duties by a variety of consultants,
specialists in the fields of law, civil engineering, traffic engineering,
landscape architecture, lighting, and historic preservation.
