Plan was approved for this site, including both passive recreational land and active recreation facilities such as soccer fields, a driving range, fishing
pond, multi-use sports areas, and paved and un-paved trails. In 1999,
we began developing a
Master Plan for this regional park in cooperation with
Chester County,
which owns the 400+ acres contiguous to the
Township land.

| The Darlington Tract is a 26 acre parcel located on West Boot Road that the Township purchased in 1998. This tract is complemented by
a 22 acre parcel across Boot Road, donated to the Township as part of the residential subdivision known as Whiteland Woods. The two parcels will be combined to create a community park serving West
Whiteland including both passive and active recreational opportunities. The Historic Commission and Parks and Recreation Department
have their offices located on this property.
