 | Keith Choper, Chairperson |
Keith Choper has lived in West Whiteland Township for almost 20 years. For over 12 years, he served the Township as a member of the Municipal Services Commission, the last 6 of those years as its Chairperson. In addition to serving on the Municipal Services Commission, he represented West Whiteland Township as a member of the Board of Directors of the Downingtown Area Municipal Authority from 1995 until he joined the Board of Supervisors. Mr. Choper’s volunteer service also includes many years as a team coach and manager for the Exton Little League.
Mr. Choper and his wife Alice live in the Whitford Village section of the Township. Their two daughters, Jessica and Susan, were raised in West Whiteland, and both attended SS Philip & James and Bishop Shanahan schools prior to attending college.
Mr. Choper has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, both from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts. He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania and other states and is the President of Keating Environmental Management, Inc., an environmental consulting firm that is located in Exton.
Mr. Choper believes that West Whiteland Township substantially benefits from the active participation of its citizens in the many volunteer opportunities that exist within the Township. He is optimistic that his participation on the Board of Supervisors will make the Township an even better place to live, to work, and to visit. He is particularly interested in enhancing the quality of our parks and recreation programs, of furthering the Township’s efforts to acquire and retain open space, of controlling growth and development within the Township, and of ensuring that West Whiteland Township government remains open and responsive to the citizens it serves. | | | Steve Soles, Vice Chairperson |

George “Bud” Turner
George Turner (known to all as Bud), is a long time resident of the Township. Bud and his wife, Judy, moved to Exton in 1969. It proved to be a wonderful place to raise their three children, Kimberly, Kevin and Keith.
Both Bud and Judy have been involved in several community organizations over the years. They have enjoyed watching the area grow, have volunteered and worked in the area and appreciate the many significant historic resources that have been preserved.
Because Bud was involved with a volunteer fire department in his former community in New York State, he felt volunteering in the West Whiteland Fire Company was the right thing to do. Through the years his service was recognized and he held all the offices in the fire company. Currently he is serving his third term as Fire Chief.
After a 40 year career with Conrail, Bud retired from his position as Senior Vice President. He currently serves as Executive Director of the National Freight Transportation Association, an international transportation trade association.
When asked about the challenge of his position as Township Supervisor, Bud said, “I am looking forward to my service as a Supervisor. Obviously, with the state of the economy, we will be faced with some difficult decisions in order to preserve the level of service our residents and the business community have come to expect.”
